Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Business North Carolina magazine has named Tom Griffin to its Power List, which recognizes the state’s most influential business leaders. Since 2012, Tom has served as managing partner of Parker Poe, which is a regional law firm with deep roots and history in North Carolina, where it was founded.
Business North Carolina compiled the Power List based on interviews with industry leaders, research by its staff, and recommendations from the business community. The resulting list honors “individuals who are driving much of the change in North Carolina and who are making a significant impact on their enterprises, industries and communities,” according to the magazine.
As managing partner, Tom successfully steered Parker Poe through the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic last year. The firm quickly adapted to a fully remote workplace, maintained its sense of community, collaborated with clients to help them navigate the myriad impacts of COVID-19 on their businesses, and continued building on its long history of community service and diversity and inclusion.
Tom also helped Parker Poe maintain its focus on strategic growth despite the headwinds of the pandemic. The firm added attorneys across its Southeastern footprint last year, with particularly strong growth in Atlanta. Strategic growth has been a theme of Tom’s tenure, as the firm has added offices in Washington, D.C.; Greenville, South Carolina; and Atlanta. Parker Poe has steadily built practice capabilities to help its clients grow their businesses as well.
Finally, Tom spearheaded and is working closely with other Charlotte law firm leaders on an initiative to address economic and social mobility in Charlotte and beyond. He believes strongly in the concept that you need to be the change that you want to see, and he is excited about working with his colleagues to make a difference.
