Deets Mahesh is part of a team of attorneys who provide practical solutions to the intellectual property priorities of clients.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Deets served as a transactional fellow for one of the world's 25 largest law firms. As part of the firm's fund finance group, he drafted loan and collateral documentation for global financial institutions as well as negotiated and revised loan documents in all stages of fund financing.
He also has experience with both the U.S. Department of Treasury and Department of Transportation, having served as both a law clerk and legal intern. With the Treasury Department, Deets analyzed consumer complaints against banks and researched case law of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to assist attorneys with their litigation strategy in personnel disputes.
Deets earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina, where he served as articles and notes editor of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal. He also co-founded and served as co-president of Carolina Law's First-Generation Professionals, which is a resource for law students who are the first in their family to pursue college, professional school, or law school. He earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.
