Ethan Johnson focuses his practice on construction law and regularly counsels owners, contractors, and design professionals throughout public and private commercial construction projects. Much of Ethan’s practice involves representing construction industry clients in state and federal court, and in private arbitrations concerning complex construction disputes. He also regularly drafts and negotiates construction and design services agreements for his clients, including custom-drafted agreements and modified versions of industry standard forms. Additionally, Ethan reviews public construction solicitations for compliance with applicable laws and advises contractors and design professionals on professional licensing issues.
Ethan earned his law degree in the evenings while working full time for AECOM Tishman in New York City, where he developed and managed construction schedules for commercial high-rise projects with contract values up to $1.3 billion. While at AECOM Tishman, Ethan also worked in the general counsel’s office, where he reviewed owner-proposed construction contracts and identified project risks. Prior to law school, Ethan worked as a delay claims consultant at a construction consulting firm where he worked with some of the nation’s largest general contractors preparing delay analyses. Due to this background, Ethan has a particular interest in construction disputes involving complex delay claims.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Ethan practiced in New York City with a national law firm, where he focused on construction law.
