Todd Haynie has over 25 years of experience advising clients on banking, finance, and commercial real estate transactions. His clients include national and regional financial institutions, real estate developers, global manufacturers, and national and regional multifamily property owners. 

Todd is the practice group leader for Parker Poe's Banking & Capital Markets Group.

He represents lenders in a broad variety of financing arrangements, including construction and permanent loans, as well as loan syndications and participations. He has advised on commercial development loans to build office towers, retail shopping centers, apartment complexes, industrial projects, and other projects. He has substantial experience with lending to homebuilders as well. In addition, he has advised on asset-based lines of credit to businesses, such as borrowing-based facilities and commercial and industrial (C&I) loans.

Todd's experience representing lenders strengthens his commercial real estate practice, as he can provide borrowers strategic and practical counsel. He advises on the acquisition, financing, development, leasing, and disposition of properties. Clients in a variety of sectors turn to Todd, including the industrial, multifamily, and office sectors. He frequently advises manufacturers and other clients on the real estate components of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Southeast.

Todd earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina and his bachelor's degree from Davidson College.

Representative Experience

  • Represented national and regional banks in the origination of a broad range of loans, including commercial construction loans and asset-based lines of credit.
  • Represented lenders in working capital, term, and other credit facilities.
  • Advised borrowers on the acquisition, financing, development, and disposition of multifamily housing, office, retail, and other commercial projects.
  • Counseled international manufacturers and other clients on the real estate components of FDI in the Southeastern U.S.
  • Acted as real estate counsel in connection with low-income housing tax credit closings.
  • Negotiated loan workouts and the restructuring of existing loans.
  • Advised corporate clients on their organizational and operational needs.
