Columbia, SC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Columbia office leader Ray Jones has been named among the 50 most influential people of 2023 by Columbia Business Monthly. The honorees are chosen through a nomination process that includes interviews with key players in the Midlands region.
Ray has provided counsel on a number of significant bond and economic development transactions in South Carolina and across the Southeast. He works with a talented team that represents a broad spectrum of clients in public finance, local taxation, financing of affordable housing, and economic development. His team’s clients include counties, cities, school districts, investment banks, financial institutions, public housing authorities, developers, and manufacturers.
Ray has played a leading role in growing Parker Poe’s Columbia office and its consulting practice over the past two decades. In addition, his partners elected him to serve on Parker Poe's firmwide board of directors from 2014 to 2017. He is a current member of the firm’s Policy & Planning Committee.
Ray is also deeply focused on serving the Columbia community. He has served as board chair of the Saluda Shoals Foundation and the March of Dimes South Carolina Chapter. He has also served on the board of directors for the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association. He currently serves as board chair for the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina and on the board of directors for First Community Bank.
