Samantha Lewis provided a training to school district special educators and other education professionals about making restrictive placement decisions aligned with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as part of LRP Media Group’s education webinar series.

Samantha’s presentation covered key insights about the complex task of moving a student with disabilities to a more restrictive setting. She discussed the following issues:

• Identifying which of the various placement options is most appropriate for the student.
   
• Understanding the requirements to oversee Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) for students in restrictive placements.
   
• Transitioning the student back to a school setting when appropriate.
