Raleigh, NC – Turnbridge Equities broke ground last week on Highline Glenwood, a 37-story, 306-unit luxury residential tower in downtown Raleigh. It is the first major zoning project approved in downtown Raleigh since 2020 to break ground, delivering much-needed supply to the city's fast-growing population.
Highline Glenwood will be Raleigh’s tallest building once completed. Its residential units will range from studio to three-bedroom apartments with sweeping balcony views. It will also include approximately 7,500 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and approximately 50,000 square feet of commercial space in the historic Pine State Creamery building, which Turnbridge Equities is preserving.
The Creamery was first built as a dairy plant around 1920 and was later designated a Raleigh Landmark. Parker Poe advised Turnbridge on rezoning the property to permit up to 40 stories of mixed-use development, obtaining Raleigh Historic Development Commission approvals, securing related permits, and acting as local counsel for related real estate transactions. The firm is also advising Turnbridge on the next phase of the site's revitalization: a 20-story mixed-use office tower.
The Parker Poe team representing Turnbridge Equities throughout the project’s approvals was led by Raleigh partners Jamie Schwedler (head of the firm’s Development Services Industry Team) and Camden Betz (who leads the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Development Practice Group). It included Raleigh partners Laura Goode and Collier Marsh, as well as Raleigh associates Walker Abbott and Katherine Franck.
