Drew Hargrove helps clients navigate the increasingly dynamic requirements of environmental regulations. For almost a decade, Drew served as an assistant general counsel at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). In that role, Drew provided legal advice regarding state and federal environmental laws, especially as it relates to permitting, compliance, and enforcement. Relatedly, he routinely coordinated with other state and federal agencies regarding implementation of environmental programs. He also drafted and reviewed court filings, legislation, regulations, and guidance documents and worked with DEQ’s grant funding programs and procurement services.
Drew earned his law degree and bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to attending law school, Drew worked in the investment industry. His investment experience includes administering over $300 million in investment funds, becoming a registered financial advisor and providing investment advice to individuals and small businesses, and preparing due diligence for private equity deals.
Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending time with his family, playing banjo, cycling, and surfing.
