Blair Carpenter focuses her practice on commercial real estate finance, advising clients on a range of properties including hotels, retail, office buildings, and multi-family complexes. She represents financial institutions in a variety of transactions, such as construction loans, acquisition and development loans, term financing, and revolving credit facilities.
Blair is a member of Parker Poe’s Corporate Leasing Team, preparing lease abstracts, addendums, and assignments in connection with corporate acquisitions and mergers.
She has an active pro bono practice where she represents abused and neglected children through the North Carolina Guardian ad Litem appellate program. She also works with nonprofit organizations to prepare wills and other end-of-life legal documents for low-income individuals in our community.
Blair earned her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. While in law school, she was a notes and comments editor for the Wake Forest Journal of Law & Policy, a board member of Moot Court, the co-coordinator for the Immigration Pro Bono Project, and a judicial extern for the North Carolina Business Court.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Davidson College, where she won the Goodwin-Exxon Senior Award recognizing the student with the highest standards of character. Before beginning her legal career, Blair worked in the nonprofit sector and saw firsthand the importance of compassion and competence in the legal field. She also worked as a paralegal before attending law school.
