Eli Underwood focuses his practice on corporate transactions and business law. Eli has particular experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including equipment and machinery purchases, installation agreements, and EPC contracts. He also has experience drafting and negotiating supply agreements, inventory agreements, terms and conditions, and all varieties of vendor contracts.
He further assists entities of all sizes in drafting, reviewing, and updating internal documents, including operating agreements, shareholder agreements, bylaws, resolutions, and other intercompany documents. He also routinely advises clients on best practices and their compliance needs, including the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).
In addition, Eli dedicates a portion of his practice to transactions involving the purchase and sale of businesses and related assets.
Eli began his professional career as a CPA. He spent four years in PwC's assurance practice before attending law school. At PwC he gained valuable experience in corporate accounting and management consulting. After law school, and prior to starting with Parker Poe, he practiced for several years as a tax and business associate for a large Kansas-based law firm.
Eli received his law degree from the Washburn University School of Law and his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Kansas.
In his free time, Eli enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, following college football and basketball, and working out.
