Karen Lander serves as the firm's conflicts counsel, supporting the firm's conflict of interest team and advising attorneys on conflicts of interest, professional responsibility, and legal ethics. She works with practice group leaders, attorneys, and staff members of the firm to ensure that matters are opened in compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct, and that conflict of interest situations are appropriately addressed, resolved, and documented. She is also available to advise on audit responses in compliance with the ABA Statement of Policy Regarding Lawyers’ Responses to Auditors’ Requests for Information.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Karen was legal counsel at one of the 100 largest American law firms, where she advised the firm and its attorneys on conflicts, ethics, and risk management, including audit responses. She began her legal practice serving as an assistant district attorney for Guilford County in North Carolina.
