Kayla McDaniel focuses her practice on employment and labor law. She has defended private employers and municipalities through all stages of litigation, including cases involving complex constitutional issues, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Retaliatory Employment Discrimination Act (REDA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and other federal and state employment laws.
She has extensive experience representing employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the North Carolina Department of Labor. She has likewise defended employers facing investigation from the United States Department of Labor.
Kayla also frequently advises employers on how to develop effective strategies that align with their business objectives and mitigate future litigation risk, provides counseling on issues ranging from employee discipline and separation to disability accommodations, and offers employers assistance with supervisory training to ensure legal compliance in all aspects of their employment practices.
Kayla received her law degree from Campbell University, where she was co-chair of the Capital Area Teen Court and a staff writer for the Campbell Law Observer. She received her bachelor's degree from Western Carolina University.
