Maya Madura Engle serves as Parker Poe's associate general counsel. She leads the firm’s conflict of interest team, supervises docketing, and chairs the firm's Security Committee. She advises attorneys on conflicts of interest, professional responsibility, and legal ethics. Maya works closely with the practice group leaders, attorneys, and staff members of the firm to ensure that matters are opened in compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct, and that conflict of interest situations are appropriately addressed, resolved, and documented.
Maya chairs the winter cycle of the N.C. Board of Law Examiners’ Bar Candidate Committee for the Western District and is a member of the N.C. State Bar's Disciplinary Hearing Commission. She has earned a Yellow Belt Certification in Legal Lean Sigma® and Project Management from the Legal Lean Sigma Institute.
Before joining Parker Poe, Maya worked for the Mecklenburg County Bar as assistant executive director and director of compliance and ethics. She also received her JD from Charleston School of Law and was involved in several leadership organizations.
