Michael Almond was a partner with Parker Poe from 1984 to 1999, during which time he led the firm’s international practice. From 1999 to 2005, he served as the president and chief executive officer of the Charlotte Regional Partnership, a nonprofit, public/private consortium that supports economic development in 16 counties in North Carolina and South Carolina that constitute the Charlotte region.
In 2005, Mr. Almond was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesverdienstkreuz) by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany for “outstanding commitment in fostering the relations between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany.” In 2005, Mr. Almond rejoined Parker Poe as counsel before retiring.
